Good news coming out of Baner today as the Pune Police have set a new record by filing a chargesheet in a molestation case within just 24 hours. This rapid action comes after the arrest of 27-year-old Yogesh Shrikrushna Avchar from Mhalunge on 17th March.

The case, which was reported at Baner Police Station, involves a 46-year-old woman who was allegedly stalked and threatened by Avchar for over a year. The victim claimed that he followed her near her home and workplace, making intimidating remarks and warning her not to go to the authorities.

Senior Police Inspector Navnath Jagtap revealed that the investigation was completed in just 20 hours, and the chargesheet was promptly submitted to the Pune District Court in Shivajinagar. The court accepted the chargesheet and remanded the accused to judicial custody.

The entire investigation was led by Police Sub-Inspector Rajshree Patil with the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Navnath Jagtap, Assistant Commissioner of Police Vithal Dabade, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav expressed his satisfaction with the swift progress in the case, stating that this level of efficiency is rare. He credited the directive from Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar to expedite investigations in sensitive cases for the successful outcome. Jadhav also reassured the public that the police will continue to prioritize thorough investigations and timely chargesheet submissions in the future.
