The Pune Police Commissionerate recently organized a ‘School Safety Conference’ in Swargate, Pune, with over 2,400 principals and secretaries from 1,200 schools in attendance. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring a safe educational environment for students and highlighted measures such as installing CCTV cameras and conducting background checks on staff.
Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma called for a proactive approach from school administrators to address instances of misbehavior, while DCP Nikhil Pingle discussed safety protocols for students. RTO Archana Gaikwad focused on road safety, particularly the school bus policy, and Director Sampat Suryavanshi provided guidance on government decisions concerning school safety.
The conference featured an interactive session where school representatives raised questions and received practical solutions from Commissioner Kumar. The event underscored the collaborative efforts needed to ensure student safety, with high-ranking officials in attendance to show their support.
