Hey there, Pune folks! Here’s some juicy news for you – the Pune police have recently charged two doctors and a hospital staffer under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act. And what for, you ask? Well, it seems that Dr. Ajay Taware, head of the forensic medicine department at Sassoon General Hospital, came up with a shady plan to replace a minor driver’s blood sample with his father’s, who happens to be a builder.

The whole drama unfolded after the 17-year-old driver was involved in a Porsche Taycan crash on May 19. The blood test that could have determined if the teen was under the influence of alcohol was allegedly tampered with by Dr. Taware, along with Dr. Shrihari Holnur (casualty medical officer) and Atul Ghatkamble (mortuary staffer).

According to Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar, there might have been a hefty sum of money involved in this scandal. Dr. Taware apparently received Rs 3 lakh and passed on Rs 50,000 to Dr. Holnur, who in turn gave Rs 50,000 to Ghatkamble. And that’s not all – the police have already recovered Rs 2.5 lakh from Dr. Holnur.

The police are not taking this lightly, as they have invoked the PC Act and are considering opening a disproportionate assets inquiry against the accused. They are also planning to suspend the doctors and the staffer and seek permission for prosecution under Section 197.

In the midst of all this chaos, the police have conducted searches at Dr. Taware’s residence and are analyzing call records between him and the builder. The investigation also revealed that the teen driver had been to two pubs before the accident, where he allegedly consumed alcohol.

To add to the drama, the police have deployed a guard at Dr. Taware’s office to prevent any further malpractice. They are also working on digitally recreating the entire accident for the court’s benefit.

So, Pune peeps, stay tuned for more updates on this scandalous case involving doctors, a builder, and a Porsche crash. It’s like a real-life soap opera unfolding right in our city!
