The Ganesh immersion processions in Pune for Anant Chaturdashi began on Tuesday morning and continued into Wednesday, with police expecting them to last until the afternoon. The celebrations included chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” and “Ganpati Gele Gavala” as devotees bid farewell to the beloved deity. By midnight, the immersions for several prominent mandals were completed, but others were still scheduled for Wednesday morning.

This year, nearly 3,800 Ganesh mandals were registered in Pune, with police monitoring noise pollution levels and the use of high-intensity beam lights. Last year’s immersion processions took 30 hours and 25 minutes to complete, slightly longer than the 31 hours it took this year.
