Hey there, Pune peeps! Here’s the latest scoop on the ongoing investigation into the tragic Porsche Taycan accident involving a 17-year-old in Vadgaonsheri. The Pune police spilled the beans to a sessions court about the deleted CCTV footage from the teenager’s bungalow still being under scrutiny. This revelation was used as a reason to oppose the anticipatory bail pleas of the teenager’s mother, grandfather, and a former pub director in a related case under the Juvenile Justice Act.
The anticipatory bail pleas are linked to a second case filed by the Yerawada police, and the final hearing has been pushed to December 3 by Additional Sessions Judge Kavita Shribate. The incident, which took place on May 19, involved the teenager crashing into a bike in Kalyaninagar, resulting in the deaths of two young software engineers.
The primary case, being investigated by the Juvenile Justice Board, revolves around allegations of conspiracy and tampering with blood sample reports of the minors in the car during the accident. The teen’s parents and other co-accused are currently in judicial custody at Yerawada Central Prison.
In a related case, the teen’s mother, grandfather, and others are facing negligence charges for allowing the teenager to drive without a valid license and for enabling minors to access pubs and consume alcohol. The police are looking into entry and exit logs of the bungalow to see if the teenager had driven the car before. They also argued against bail, fearing witness tampering.
The investigation is ongoing, with further arguments set to be heard in December. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
