Hey there, Pune peeps! The Pune City Police have been on a roll lately, helping citizens recover their lost or missing mobile phones. With the help of the CEIR portal, they managed to track down a whopping 456 phones and return them to their rightful owners in a fancy handover ceremony at Hirkani Hall, Police Headquarters, Shivajinagar.
If you ever lose your phone, don’t fret! The Pune City Police have set up a Lost and Found portal on their official website where you can report your missing device. Once you file a complaint, you’ll get an online missing property certificate that you can use to register your case on the CEIR central portal using your Aadhaar card. The portal then works its magic to track the IMEI number of your lost phone and find out which new SIM card is being used in it. Pretty cool, huh?
To make sure everything runs smoothly, the Crime Branch, Computer Branch, and Cyber Police Station of Pune City Police joined forces to form six teams to track down the lost phones. In the past month alone, they received 2,300 complaints and successfully recovered 456 phones. They’re still on the hunt for the rest, even those that have made their way outside Pune.
At the handover ceremony, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar personally handed back the recovered phones to their owners. People were full of praise for the police’s dedication and efficiency. So, if you ever lose your phone, make sure to report it on the Lost and Found portal and the CEIR platform. It’ll help speed up the recovery process and prevent mobile theft-related crimes in the city.
Kudos to the police teams led by Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and his squad of superstars like Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade, and the DCPs and ACP who were involved in the operation. Shoutout to the Cyber Police Station’s Senior Police Inspector Swapnali Shinde and the rest of the team members who worked tirelessly to make this happen. Keep up the good work, Pune City Police!
