Hey Pune folks, have you heard the latest news from the Pune City Police Commissionerate? Well, buckle up because the police from three zones in the West Region have been killing it in solving crimes. That’s right, they have cracked a whopping three hundred cases and returned seized goods worth Rs 3.80 Crore to the rightful owners.
The cherry on top? Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister and Kothrud MLA Chandrakant Patil of BJP personally handed over the recovered goods to the complainants. Talk about some serious dedication!
The big guns were all present at the event, including Pune City Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police (West) Praveen Kumar Patil, and the Deputy Commissioners of Police from the three zones.
Each zone had its own success story – Zone 1 returned property worth Rs 74.81 Lakh to 63 complainants, Zone 2 returned property worth Rs 77.20 Lakh to 65 complainants, and Zone 3 came in clutch with property worth Rs 2.28 Crore returned to a whopping 171 complainants. That’s some serious detective work right there!
Commissioner Amitesh Kumar also shared some interesting stats, revealing a decrease in murder and attempted murder cases compared to 2023. He also mentioned cracking down on over a hundred habitual criminals under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act. The police are also working hard to tackle ‘street crime’ and address the city’s traffic congestion issues.
Oh, and remember the infamous ‘Koyta Gang’? Turns out, it’s just a figment of our imagination whenever a sharp weapon is involved in a crime. Commissioner Kumar assured the citizens that the police are on top of things and are transparently solving their problems.
So, Pune peeps, rest easy knowing that your police force is out there, fighting crime and returning stolen goods like it’s nobody’s business. Hats off to these real-life superheroes!
