However, the use of manja, which is coated with glass or metal, poses a serious threat to both birds and humans. Recent incidents in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad have highlighted this danger.

Led by top police officials including Pune City Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, the police conducted raids at 5 different locations in the city. A total of over Rs 36,820 worth of manja was seized during these operations.

The accused individuals from each police station are as follows:
– Sahakar Nagar Police Station: Rahul Sham Kamble (19), manja worth Rs 18,000 seized
– Chaturshringi Police Station: Iliyas Samim Shaikh (42), manja worth Rs 14,200 seized
– Vishrantwadi Police Station: Mayur Mahadev Anarse (34), manja worth Rs 1,720 seized
– Warje Malwadi Police Station: Siddharth Santosh Wakhare (19), manja worth Rs 500 seized
– Market Yard Police Station: Dhananjay Chandrakant Mohol (26), manja worth Rs 2,400 seized
