Hey Pune! Big news in the city today as the Maharashtra state home department has given the green light for Pune police to take their case to the Supreme Court. Why, you ask? Well, it all stems from the controversial decision to release a 17-year-old involved in the Porsche Taycan crash back in May.

The Juvenile Justice Board initially let the teenager go after the crash, but the police weren’t having it and appealed the decision. The teenager’s aunt even got involved, filing a petition in the high court. And wouldn’t you know it, on June 25, the high court ruled in favor of the teenager, saying that the JJB had overstepped its bounds by reversing the bail decision.

For those who need a refresher, the crash happened in the wee hours of May 19 in Kalyani Nagar. The teenager, allegedly driving a Porsche Taycan while under the influence, collided with a motorcycle, tragically killing two IT engineers from Jabalpur.

So, what’s next for this case? Looks like it’s headed to the big leagues – the Supreme Court. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
