The upcoming Ganeshotsav festival in Pune will have strict measures in place to ensure the safety of women attending. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has warned that anyone caught misbehaving or molesting women will face immediate action. If a complaint is registered, police will take the culprits into custody and display their pictures in main Chowk areas.

With crowds expected to swell during the festival, it can be easier for harassers to target women in the crowd. To combat this, a large security force will be deployed, including women police teams and plainclothes officers. Any harassers caught will have their photographs, names, and addresses displayed publicly as a deterrent.

To further ensure the safety of festival-goers, eighteen Police Help Centers will be set up in the central part of the city, staffed by personnel from various police departments. Additionally, Rapid Action Force (RAF) will be deployed at six locations during the festival, monitoring the crowd for any signs of misbehavior or suspicious activity.

Overall, the authorities are taking proactive measures to make sure that everyone can enjoy the Ganeshotsav festival in Pune safely and without fear of harassment.
