The Pune police are ramping up their investigation into a tragic incident that took the lives of two IT engineers in Yerwada. The incident involved a minor driver speeding in a luxury Porsche at 150 to 160 kilometers per hour, allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Now, authorities are focusing on questioning the accused minor and analyzing footage from the car’s front and rear cameras to piece together the events leading up to the crash.
Modern vehicles like the Porsche in question come equipped with cameras that record road movements, providing valuable information for investigators. Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil emphasized the significance of this footage in understanding the circumstances of the accident.
The minor reportedly left his home late Saturday night with a driver and was returning from two pubs in the early hours of Sunday when the fatal crash occurred. Statements from the minor, his friends, and the driver have been taken to shed light on what happened that night.
It has been revealed that the minor’s father instructed the driver to take the boy to a party and allowed him to drive the Porsche if requested. The series of events leading to the accident involved visits to pubs like ‘Cosie’ and ‘Blak club at Marriott Suites’ before the collision near Landmark Garden society on Kalyani Nagar – Airport road.
The car hit a bike from behind, resulting in the tragic deaths of Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both 24 years old and from Jabalpur. Investigators are now looking into the onboard recordings of the Porsche and analyzing the minor’s mobile phone for further evidence, including photos, videos, WhatsApp messages, and call details.
