Hey Pune folks, have you heard the latest news about the security measures being taken to protect the hills in the city? It seems like a much-needed step after recent incidents of looting and gang rape at Bopdev Ghat.
So, here’s the scoop – the Pune Police, under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, have identified more than thirteen hills and seven black spots in the city that need to be secured. These areas will be monitored through CCTV cameras and bright floodlights to ensure the safety of citizens.
The Police Commissioner mentioned that a report detailing the security measures will be sent to the Maharashtra state government on December 2. The plan includes installing state-of-the-art cameras, including PTZ cameras, fixed cameras, and ANPR cameras, to capture the faces of criminals. There will also be a panic button system in place, which will alert the Pune Police Control Room and start recording a video when pressed.
To ensure quick response time, seven special mobile surveillance vehicles will be deployed, equipped with drone cameras. The entire security system is estimated to cost around Rs 70 crore, including maintenance and repairs for five years.
Additionally, arrangements have been made to provide connectivity through radio frequency in areas where there is no network coverage. The aim is to make sure that the hills and black spots in the city are well-protected and that citizens can feel safe while enjoying the natural beauty of Pune.
So, it looks like our hills are about to get a high-tech security makeover! Let’s hope these measures make a difference and keep Pune safe for everyone. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
