Shivajinagar was in turmoil today as activists from the Patit Pavan Sanghatana took to the streets to protest against the alleged drug use by minors at L3 – The Liquid Leisure Lounge on FC Road. The viral video showing the minors consuming drugs sparked outrage, leading to the pub being vandalized by angry protesters who demanded action from opposition party leaders.
In a swift response to the public outcry, Pune Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar suspended several police officers, including Police Inspector (Crime) Anil Mane and Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Patil, as well as two beat marshals from Shivajinagar Police Station. The State Excise Department and Pune Police also took action by sealing the pub and arresting eight individuals, including Ravi Maheshwari and Utkarsh Deshmane.
The incident has brought to light the issue of drug use among minors and has reignited calls for stricter law enforcement measures. The police are now conducting further investigations and questioning the youths present at the party. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding our youth from the dangers of substance abuse.
