The Pune railway division is cracking down on ticketless travel with fines imposed on nearly 24,000 passengers in September alone. The division conducted extensive inspections throughout the month, resulting in the recovery of a total fine of ₹92 lakh. Offenders included passengers traveling without tickets, those with irregular tickets, and those who improperly booked their luggage.
From April to September 2024, the division has taken action against 171,420 passengers for ticketless travel, collecting an impressive ₹10.73 crore in fines. The crackdown was conducted under the leadership of key figures such as Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey and Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh.
Passengers are reminded to adhere to ticketing rules and regulations to avoid penalties and ensure a smooth travel experience. The Pune railway division’s strict enforcement measures aim to enhance compliance with ticketing norms and improve the overall travel experience for all passengers.
