Hey there, folks! Here’s some news from the Chinchwad area that you might find interesting. The 132 KV substation of Mahaparetran is responsible for supplying power to Mahavitaran’s Chakan 22 KV power line, which then distributes electricity to the switching station in the region. This power is further distributed to areas like Pradhikaran, Nigdi, and the Otas Scheme.

Now, the railway department is up to something exciting in Bijlinagar. They’re working on laying down a new railway line next to the existing one, and they’ve got some heavy-duty JCB machines for the job.

However, things took a turn for the worse when the underground Chakan 22 KV power line was accidentally cut not once, but thrice (on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday). This led to power outages for around 20,000 customers in Pradhikaran and Nigdi. Mahavitaran’s team sprang into action and managed to restore power to most customers within an hour, but around 1,500 customers had to endure 3 to 4 hours of darkness each day.

The damaged power line, buried three to four meters underground, posed quite a challenge for the repair team, especially with rainwater complicating matters in the excavation pits. Despite the hurdles, Mahavitaran managed to install 20 meters of new power line and fix seven joints over the course of three days. Each joint took about four hours to complete, with extra care taken to ensure the safety of the nearby railway line.

Kudos to the hardworking team at Mahavitaran for their tireless efforts in restoring power to the affected areas as quickly as possible. Let’s hope things are back to normal soon!
