As the Ganesh festival brings joy and devotion to households in Maharashtra, one Pune resident is making waves with his unique approach to celebrations. Kaustubh Ponkshe, a cybersecurity professional from Maharshi Nagar, has combined his love for scale model trains with the festive spirit to create something truly special.

This year, Ponkshe, along with his wife and friend Nachiket Sant, designed a replica of a Pune metro station for their Ganpati decoration. The display featured miniature trains, commuters, and station designs, capturing the essence of Pune city. The setup not only showcased their artistic talent but also paid homage to the city’s growing metro network.

In an interview, Kaustubh shared that this was his second year creating elaborate Ganesh decorations. Last year, he impressed with a “Modak Train,” serving sweet dumplings to Lord Ganesh.

For Ponkshe, Ganesh Chaturthi is more than just a festival – it’s a chance to express his passions and inspire others. His innovative decorations have become a neighborhood highlight, earning admiration from the community. By blending tradition with creativity, he has turned the annual celebration into a heartwarming tradition of togetherness, love, and artistic expression.
