As the holiday season approaches, the Maharashtra Home Department has announced some good news for alcohol lovers in Pune. The alcohol sale timings have been extended for certain days, allowing people to enjoy their drinks for longer hours. Here are the details of the changes:
– Foreign Liquor Vendor Licenses now can sell until 1:00 AM instead of 10:30 PM.
– High-Class Foreign Liquor served in resto-bars can now be served until 1:00 AM instead of 11:30 PM.
– Foreign Liquor Wholesale License and Bar License holders can now sell until 1:00 AM instead of 10:30 PM.
– In certain Police Commissionerates, on-premise consumption of foreign liquor can now operate from 1:30 AM to 5:00 AM.
– Beer Bar License Holders and Retailers selling Country Liquor can now sell until 5:00 AM instead of 12:00 AM.
– Country Liquor License holders in certain areas can now sell until 1:00 AM instead of 11:00 PM or 10:00 PM.
However, residents in some areas like Koregaon Park, Kalyani Nagar, Bavdhan, and Vadgaonsheri have raised concerns about the extended timings, citing issues like noise pollution, disturbances from late-night parties, and traffic disruptions.
