Hey Pune peeps, time is running out to get that property tax exemption! With just two days left to take advantage of the discount, residents are flocking to pay up. Today, a whopping 24,438 citizens handed over ₹63.99 crore to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), bringing the total collection to a hefty ₹900.07 crore. That’s a lot of cash flowing in!

If you haven’t paid your property taxes yet, don’t worry, you can still save some money. PMC is offering a 10% discount for bills under ₹25,000 and a 5% discount for bills over that amount. With over 14 lakh properties under their jurisdiction, PMC is encouraging everyone to pay up before the May 31st deadline.

So far, almost 5 lakh citizens have already paid their taxes, with a total of ₹836.08 crore in the kitty. And with today’s contributions, it looks like PMC is on track to hit at least ₹1100 crore before the deadline hits.

To make things easier for you, PMC’s Citizens Facilitation Centers will be open from 9 AM to 9 PM until May 31st. Deputy Commissioner Madhav Jagtap from the Taxation Department is making sure you have no excuse not to pay up!

And here’s a little bonus for you procrastinators out there – PMC has extended the deadline for the discount until June 15th. So, you still have a chance to save some dough on your taxes. With over 14 lakh bills sent out, only about 5.65 lakh citizens have paid up, bringing in a cool ₹973 crores. And with the addition of new village areas, PMC is expecting a total collection of over ₹1300 crore post-discount.

To make sure everyone can pay up, PMC centres will be open on weekends and holidays, and they’re encouraging online payments to make things even easier. So, what are you waiting for? Get those taxes paid and save some money while you’re at it!
