Hey Pune peeps, looks like the online system for birth and death registration in our city is causing some serious headaches! The PMC has been using the Central Government’s Civil Registration Software since 2019 to streamline the process, but lately, it’s been nothing but trouble.

Apparently, the system has been facing technical difficulties, which have led to major disruptions in issuing birth and death certificates. Citizens are not happy about it, and neither are the municipal employees who have been dealing with frustrated residents.

To make matters worse, a few months ago, the software underwent some major changes. Now, instead of being able to pick up birth or death certificates from any ward office, you have to go to the specific office where the event was registered. Talk about a hassle!

And it’s not just inconvenience that citizens are facing. Long queues at civic amenities centers, delays in certificate issuance, and slow system performance have become the norm. People are getting fed up, and who can blame them?

Despite complaints to the state government from PMC officials and district doctors, the system remains at a standstill. Looks like a letter of complaint will be heading their way soon to try and get things back on track. Let’s hope they can sort out this mess ASAP!
