The recent Silent March organized by Pune River Revival saw a number of NGOs coming together to advocate for the revival of Pune’s rivers. Organizations such as Jeevitnadi, Ecological Society, and National Alliance for Peoples Movement were among those who participated in the march. Along with these NGOs, Punekar citizens also showed their support, with names like Vandanatai Chavan and Mohan Joshi joining in.

The success of the march can be attributed to the hard work of individuals like Shailaja Deshpande and Prajakta Mahajan from PRR. Deshpande mentioned that a letter outlining citizens’ demands will be submitted to the administration, and a joint flood control meeting will be organized to address the issue. Santosh Lalwani emphasized the importance of restoring the rivers for the environment and the citizens’ safety.

Prajakta Mahajan highlighted the need for the government to implement a sustainable plan that takes into account environmental changes. The march served as a platform for citizens to voice their concerns and urge the administration to take action. Overall, the event was a step towards ensuring the well-being of Pune’s rivers and the community.
