The Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Pune has taken action against a Porsche Taycan involved in a fatal accident that claimed the lives of two individuals. The luxury sports sedan, which was temporarily registered in Bengaluru, was being driven by a 17-year-old boy when the tragic incident occurred on May 19.
According to a senior RTO official, the car owner failed to pay a registration fee of ₹1,758 during the process, leading to the non-approval of permanent registration. As per the Motor Vehicles Act, the registration certificate can be revoked for 12 months if an accident involves a minor driver. The Pune RTO issued a notice to the registered user on May 23 and has now reached out to the Bengaluru RTO to cancel the temporary registration.
The Porsche Taycan is currently in the possession of the Pune Police Crime Branch for further investigation into the accident. Driving a vehicle on the road without proper registration is illegal, and authorities are taking necessary steps to ensure accountability in this unfortunate incident.
