Are you tired of being overcharged by private transport vehicles in Pune? Well, you’re in luck because the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Pune is cracking down on arbitrary fare collection. If you find yourself being charged 50 per cent more than the fixed per km price or more than 1.5 times the fare of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses, you can now register a complaint via email at [email protected] or on WhatsApp at 8275330101.

The RTO Pune is currently running a campaign on inspection and fare collection until September 30 to ensure that passengers are not being taken advantage of by private transporters. According to the government’s guidelines issued on April 27, 2018, the maximum fare for private buses should not exceed 1.5 times the fare of MSRTC buses for the same category.

If any private travel or bus is found to be charging more than the government-fixed fare, strict action will be taken against them. The RTO Pune has also reminded passengers that tickets should be priced according to the rules set by the government.

So next time you’re traveling in Pune, make sure to keep an eye on the fare being charged and don’t hesitate to report any overcharging to the RTO. Let’s work together to ensure fair and safe transportation for all passengers in Pune.
