Hey Pune folks, listen up! The Pune RTO is cracking down on vehicles that don’t have a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. Yep, you heard that right. They’re not messing around when it comes to combating pollution levels in the city.
In the past nine months alone, the RTO has checked a whopping 14,000 vehicles and slapped penalties on 4,500 drivers who didn’t have a valid PUC certificate. That’s a hefty fine of ₹65 lakh collected as a result. Ouch!
And with the foggy season upon us, the RTO is not taking any chances. They’re planning to ramp up inspections even more to tackle the pollution crisis head-on. Last month, their Vayuveg Inspection Team found 1,465 drivers without a PUC certificate out of 5,323 vehicles checked. That’s a no-no, folks.
So, if you’re a vehicle owner in Pune, make sure you have that PUC certificate handy. The RTO is serious about keeping the air clean and they’re not afraid to hit you where it hurts – your wallet. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
