In a recent development, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Pune has taken strict action against 11 dealers for selling vehicles without proper registration. Following a show-cause notice issued to them, the RTO has decided to cancel their Trade Certificates.

Out of the 11 dealers, five are based in Pune while the rest are located in other cities. The RTO Pune has instructed its offices in other cities to take action against dealers within their respective jurisdictions. Additionally, the RTO Pune will also take action against dealers operating within the city limits.

This move by the RTO comes after a recent hit-and-run incident in Kalyani Nagar, prompting the agency to conduct checks on vehicles. A flying squad of the RTO discovered 11 two-wheelers being used without registration, leading to the issuance of notices to the dealers involved.

The RTO Pune has stated that dealers found in violation of the Motor Vehicles Act may face cancellation of their Trade Certificates for 7, 15, or 21 days. During this period, the dealers will not be able to sell any vehicles as their login IDs will be blocked, effectively halting their sales operations.

The five dealers in Pune who have been issued notices include TVS Shelar in Kharadi, Kunal Enterprises in Kondhwa, Satav Automobiles in Hadapsar, and Kothari Wheels in Kondhwa. This marks the first instance of such strict action being taken against dealers in Pune, highlighting the RTO’s commitment to enforcing regulations in the region.
