This clever canine secured third place at a bomb detection competition during the 19th Kolhapur Zonal Police Duty Melawa. The event had teams from various police forces across the region, but Veera’s skills stood out and earned the squad a bronze medal.
Veera, handpicked by the Pune Rural Squad for the competition, impressed everyone with its bomb detection abilities. The dog sniffed out explosives hidden in different items with precision and efficiency, landing it in the third position. The team was honored with a bronze medal for this remarkable feat.
The prize distribution ceremony was a grand affair, with top police officials like Inspector General Sunil Phulari and Superintendent Mahindra Pandit handing out awards. Pune Rural Police Constable Ganesh Phapale and Gorakhnath Bhamgar also received bronze medals and certificates for their valuable contributions.
Superintendent Pankaj Deshmukh praised the team’s performance, highlighting Veera’s talent and the dedication of Constable Phapale, Bhamgar, Chandrashekhar Magar, and Technician Satish Gegje.
