Nighttime drone sightings are causing a stir in Pune rural areas, with residents feeling anxious about the mysterious flying objects. The Pune rural police are taking action by proposing to purchase ‘anti-drone guns’ to combat the issue.

Photos and videos of drones flying at night have been popping up on social media, particularly in the eastern parts of Pune district. This has led to unease among residents, with many reporting sightings in areas like Khalad in Purandar.

In response, the Pune rural police have received training on using ‘anti-drone guns’ to disable these unauthorized drones. This training is part of their efforts to crack down on illegal drone activity in the area, according to Pune rural SP Pankaj Deshmukh.

The police are set to submit a proposal to acquire two anti-drone guns from a private company to the Pune district planning committee. They are also urging citizens to refrain from spreading unverified information about the drones, in order to prevent unnecessary panic. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
