Sassoon Hospital in Pune is once again in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. It seems like the administration hasn’t learned from their past mistakes, as a case of an abandoned patient has been left unaddressed for eight days now.

The dean of Sassoon Hospital, Eknath Pawar, formed a committee to investigate the matter, but the report has not been made public yet. Activists Ritesh Gaikwad and Dadasaheb Gaikwad have tried to meet with Pawar to discuss the issue, but have been unsuccessful in their attempts.

The lack of action from the hospital administration has sparked concerns about accountability and responsiveness, with the public and media criticizing them for their inaction. There are allegations that Eknath Pawar is protecting Orthopaedics Department Head and Medical Superintendent Yallappa Jadhav, who has not faced any consequences even after 8 days.

Despite Kasba MLA Ravindra Dhangekar ordering the suspension of the doctor in question, no action has been taken against Jadhav. Other doctors at the hospital have also expressed their anger over the situation, stating that the heads of various departments should be held accountable instead.

Calls for an impartial investigation into the matter are growing, with demands for strong action against those responsible. Activists have written a letter urging for a thorough investigation and for the accused to face consequences for their actions.
