Lights, camera, action! Pune is all set to host a spectacular cinematic event as the 18th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) wraps up. Organized by NFDC and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India, this festival promises to dazzle audiences with the best in Documentary, Short, and Animation films.

Get ready for red carpet premieres and screenings in Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, and Chennai. Pune-based filmmakers will showcase their work, with the opening film “Billy and Molly – An Otter Love Story” taking center stage at the NFDC – National Film Archive of India.

From June 15th to June 21st, the NFDC – NFAI venue in Pune will host daily screenings of official selections from the 18th MIFF. International competition entries like “Against the Tide,” “Glass my Unfulfilled Life,” “Karparaa,” and “I Am Not” will be showcased, along with Marathi films like “Bhed Chal,” “Sahastrasurya Savarkar,” and “Aathvanitlya Paaulkhuna.”

Local talent will also shine at the festival, with Pune filmmakers presenting their works. Films like “Guntata Hruday he (Entangled)” and “Sunflowers were the First Ones to Know” will compete in the National Competition for Short Fiction Films. “Kankhua” and “Fear” will vie for top honors in the Animation and Short Fiction categories, while “Mhatara Dongar” will be showcased in the National Prism – Student Short Film Fiction category.
