Imagine ordering your favorite chocolate shake online, only to discover a dead mouse in it after you’ve already finished it. That’s exactly what happened to a postgraduate student in Lohgaon, who was left horrified and rushed to the hospital for fear of his health.
According to Assistant Inspector Vijay Chandan of the Airport Police, the student noticed the dead mouse inside the container after finishing the shake and immediately sought medical attention. The student and his friend tried to address the issue with the café from which the shake was ordered, but their complaints were allegedly dismissed.
Upon further investigation, police found injury marks on the mouse, indicating that it may have accidentally fallen into the blender and been processed along with the ingredients. The shake had been ordered as a Valentine’s Day gift via a food delivery app, and authorities have now booked the café owner under relevant sections related to endangering human life and personal safety.
This disturbing incident is not an isolated case of contaminated food making headlines. In the past, severed human fingertips have been found in ice cream tubs traced back to manufacturing units, and restaurants have faced legal action for allegedly serving meals with rats in them. It’s a reminder to always be vigilant about the food we consume and to speak up when something doesn’t seem right.
