The accused in the horrific rape incident at the Swargate bus depot has been identified as Gade, who allegedly assaulted a 26-year-old woman inside an empty MSRTC bus. The victim was misled by Gade, who convinced her to board the bus before assaulting her and fleeing the scene.
After a thorough search using drones and sniffer dogs, Gade was tracked down in an agricultural field near his village. In response to the incident, the Maharashtra government suspended four MSRTC officials for negligence, including senior and junior depot managers, an assistant transport inspector, and an assistant transport superintendent.
In addition to the suspensions, 22 security guards on duty during the assault were immediately replaced. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik warned of strict action against any further negligence in ensuring passenger safety at MSRTC facilities.
