Hey Pune folks, listen up! The pollution levels in our beloved city are on the rise, and it’s not looking good. The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) is cracking down on air pollution caused by construction activities and Ready Mix Cement (RMC) operations, and they mean business.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is not messing around either. They’ve issued a strict warning to all the big players in the construction industry – architects, contractors, transporters, and RMC plant operators – to get their act together and control the dust within the next eight days. If they don’t comply, they’ll be facing some hefty penalties.

The heart of the city, as well as areas like Kothrud, Baner, Balewadi, and more, are buzzing with construction projects. But all this activity is kicking up a storm of dust, making life difficult for residents and commuters alike. PMC had put some rules in place before, like putting up sheets around construction sites and spraying water to keep the dust down. But it looks like not everyone was following the rules.

And let’s not forget about those RMC plants. Their cement mixers and dumpers are leaving a dusty trail wherever they go, especially in areas near rivers and busy roads. That’s not good news for the people living nearby.

City Engineer Prashant Waghmare is on it though. He’s making sure that the Construction Department sends out notices to those who aren’t following the rules. And he’s also making sure that the roads are cleaned up regularly to keep the dust at bay.

So, Pune, let’s all do our part to keep our city clean and dust-free. Let’s follow the rules and make Pune a healthier place for everyone.
