But it’s not just garbage burning that the PMC is cracking down on. They’ve also upped the fines for improper waste segregation and for those big-time waste generators. So if you think you can get away with not sorting your trash properly, think again – fines now start at Rs. 300 for the first offence and go up to Rs. 500 for repeat offenders.
The goal here is to make all of us more accountable for our waste and to put a stop to these harmful practices. But it’s going to take more than just fines to solve this problem. We need everyone on board to make sure our city stays clean and green.
One resident from Kalyani Nagar is hopeful that these tougher fines will make a difference, but the reality is that garbage burning cases are still on the rise, especially in Hadapsar. It’s clear that PMC needs to step up their game and take more decisive action to tackle this issue head-on.
Despite efforts like flying squads and increased security at hotspots, garbage burning is still a major problem. Complaints to PMC seem to fall on deaf ears, leaving residents frustrated and fed up with the lack of action.
