Residents of Nyati Elysia Society in Kharadi were left shocked and concerned about their health when they discovered that the water they were receiving from a tanker was processed from a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). The tanker driver, Srinivas Dasari, was promptly arrested by the Chandannagar police after a complaint was filed by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
It was revealed that the water quality in the society had declined, leading to health issues among the residents. Upon investigation, it was found that the tanker was filling up from the Kharadi STP, raising serious questions about the supplier, M/s Shriram Water Supply.
Despite attempts to intimidate the residents, the society members stood their ground and filed complaints with both the PMC and the police. The PMC took immediate action, with Junior Engineer Nitin Jadhav filing a FIR that ultimately led to the arrest of the driver.
While the second accused, Ajay Dasari, remains at large, the police are actively pursuing leads to bring him to justice. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the supplier’s negligence and ensure accountability for the health risks posed to the residents of Nyati Elysia Society.
