Hey Pune peeps! So, Eid-e-Milad 2024 was supposed to happen on 16th September, right? But guess what – it got postponed! Why, you ask? Well, because of Ganesh Visarjan falling on 17th September. So, the Seerat Committee decided to push the procession to 21st September. And here’s the kicker – no DJ music allowed this time!

For those who don’t know, Eid-e-Milad is all about celebrating the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. So, after a big pow-wow involving the Pune City Commissioner of Police, Joint Commissioner of Police, the Seerat Committee, and other important folks, it was decided that DJ music, drumming, singing, and laser lighting just ain’t the way to go for this celebration. Over 200 mosque imams are on board with this decision, urging everyone to keep it traditional and peaceful.

The Seerat Committee is calling on 137 organizations to join in on the fun, minus the DJ beats. This year’s procession is all about showcasing an ideal Muslim society. And hey, even though there are some naysayers, the police are standing firm – no DJ permissions will be granted this time around. It’s all about respecting the wishes of the Muslim community and religious leaders.

The procession is set to kick off at 8 AM from Mannu Shah Masjid in Nana Peth and will wind its way through various parts of the city before wrapping up at Hamje Khan Chowk in Ganesh Peth. The Chairman of the Seerat Committee, Maulana Gulam Ahmed Khan Kadari, will be leading the way alongside other committee members and mosque imams. Get ready for a day full of celebration and tradition, Pune! #Eid-e-Milad2024 #NoDJAllowed
