– Current Route: Puram Chowk to Shivajinagar
– Diversion: Vehicles redirected via FC Road, Tilak Road, and Alka Talkies to avoid congestion near the temple area.
2. Route from Shivaji Road to Swargate:
– Current Route: Direct route from Shivaji Road to Swargate
– Diversion: Use SG Barve Chowk, JM Road, Khandoji Baba Chowk, Tilak Chowk, and Tilak Road to reach Swargate.
3. Route from SG Barve Chowk to PMC Bhavan:
– Current Route: Direct route from SG Barve Chowk to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Bhavan
– Diversion: Take JM Road and Jhansi Rani Chowk to reach PMC Bhavan.
4. Route from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk:
– Current Route: Direct route from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk
– Diversion: Go via Bajirao Road to reach Budhwar Chowk.
The objective of these traffic diversions is to reduce congestion around the temple during the festive period, ensuring a smoother flow of traffic and enhancing safety for pedestrians and devotees. Additional measures include increased traffic personnel, signage, and barricades, as well as enhanced coordination with public transport services.
The traffic department advises residents and visitors to follow the diversions and cooperate with traffic personnel. Using public transport and avoiding peak hours is recommended to minimize inconvenience. These temporary changes are necessary to ensure a smooth and stress-free celebration of Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi at Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir.
