Hey Pune folks, buckle up for some good news! The Pune traffic police have been hard at work identifying and pinpointing 554 pesky potholes at key Chowks throughout the city. After heavy traffic congestion and rain wreaked havoc on the roads, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar ordered a thorough examination of the road conditions, especially at traffic intersections.

Over the course of two days, the traffic police surveyed 317 junctions across the city, focusing on potholes that were causing traffic jams and posing risks of accidents. The Wanowrie traffic division led the pack, identifying 85 potholes along Pune-Solapur Road at junctions like Golibar Maidan and Mummadevi.

Swargate and Chatushrungi traffic divisions also chimed in, noting major potholes at intersections on Pune-Satara Road and University Junction, respectively. Older parts of the city weren’t spared either, with potholes identified at major intersections on Shivaji Road and Bajirao Road.

Now that the identification phase is complete, the police are teaming up with the Pune Municipal Corporation to get these potholes patched up pronto. Let’s hope for smoother and safer commutes in the near future, Pune!
