Pune Traffic Police have rolled out temporary changes to parking rules in various traffic zones to tackle the city’s ongoing traffic congestion and chaotic parking situations. These adjustments aim to streamline traffic flow, enhance safety, and make commutes smoother for residents.
Key changes include designating specific areas as “No Parking Zones” and implementing stricter parking guidelines in targeted zones across Pune. For instance, in Kothrud Traffic Division, a 100-meter stretch on both sides of the road from Meenatai Thackeray Kaman Lane to Sankalp and Siddhi Co-operative Housing Society has been designated as a No Parking Zone. Similarly, in Baner Traffic Division, parking is now allowed only in designated P-1 and P-2 zones from Pancard Lane to Hotel Spring Onion to organize parking along busy commercial lanes.
To ensure transparency and public involvement, the Traffic Police have invited feedback on these temporary measures. Written objections or suggestions can be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Control) in Yerwada Post Office, Pune by February 5, 2025. The final decision will take into account public input to ensure fairness and effectiveness.
These temporary parking adjustments are part of a larger effort to decrease congestion, enhance safety, and organize parking in high-traffic areas.
