With the Ganesh Festival just around the corner, Pune authorities have announced temporary traffic restrictions on key roads in the city to manage the expected increase in traffic congestion. From September 11 to September 18, certain roads will be closed or have restricted access to ensure smoother movement for commuters.

Laxmi Road will be completely closed for all vehicular traffic, while Shivaji Road will be closed between specific intersections. Bajirao Road will have temporary closures between Puram Chowk and Gadgil Statue, and Tilak Road will be closed from Maratha Chambers to Jedhe Chowk with limited vehicle access.

For those looking for alternative routes, various options have been provided. From Hamjekhan Chowk, you can turn right at Dulyam Maruti Chowk and proceed via Daruwala Bridge to Tilak Chowk. For traffic from Shivajinagar to Swargate, J.M. Road and Alka Chowk can be used as alternative routes.

Two-wheelers will be allowed up to Lal Mahal before being redirected via Daruwala Bridge. Temporary two-way traffic will also be permitted on certain roads that are typically one-way.

No parking zones will be strictly enforced on Shivaji Road, Bajirao Road, and from Appa Balwant to Budhwar Chowk. Major road closures and restrictions will be in effect daily from 5:00 PM until the crowds disperse.

Pedestrian-only zones may also be established after 5:00 PM depending on crowd density. Residents are advised to follow alternative routes and adhere to no-parking regulations to minimize disruptions during the festive period.

The road closures will be in effect from September 11 to September 18, with peak closure times starting at 5:00 PM. No parking areas will be clearly marked along affected roads, and alternative routes will be signposted for smoother travel. Plan your travel accordingly and follow traffic guidelines to ensure a safe and hassle-free experience during the Ganesh Festival.
