The bustling streets of Shivajinagar witnessed a heartwarming event on Sunday as a walkathon was organized to promote better mental health in the workplace. The event, which started from Sambhaji Park on Jungli Maharaj Road, saw participants walking through various key locations in the area such as Good Luck Chowk, Fergusson College, and Shirole Road before returning to Sambhaji Park.

With the theme of ‘Prioritizing Mental Health at the Workplace’ for World Mental Health Day, the walkathon aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health in the workplace. Arnavaz Damaniya, the founder and managing director of Connecting Trust, inaugurated the event and emphasized the need to prioritize mental health in today’s fast-paced world.

More than 200 volunteers and citizens of Pune joined hands to participate in the walkathon, holding placards to spread awareness about mental health. Co-founder Sandy Dias, CEO Pranita Madkaikar, and other members of Connecting Trust were also present at the event to show their support.

Speaking about the importance of mental health, Pranita Madkaikar highlighted the impact of mental health on employees in the workplace. She mentioned a study by ‘Ipsos’ which revealed that one in two corporate employees is at risk of deteriorating mental health, emphasizing the need for organizations to prioritize mental well-being.

Connecting Trust, a dedicated organization working towards preventing suicide and removing the stigma associated with mental health, offers various programs to support individuals in need. From creating peer support groups in schools and colleges to providing free helplines and email support, the organization is committed to helping thousands of people cope with mental health challenges.

Shilpa Tambe, a representative of Connecting Trust, emphasized the importance of seeking help and support for mental health issues. She encouraged individuals to reach out to organizations like Connecting Trust for assistance and guidance in dealing with mental health concerns.
