As Pune gears up to welcome 2025, residents can look forward to a warm start to the New Year with a minimum temperature of around 14°C. This marks a departure from previous years, with historical data showing that temperatures above 14°C on New Year’s Day are a rare occurrence in the city.

Recent trends have also shown higher-than-normal temperatures leading up to the New Year. On December 31, 2024, both the Shivajinagar and Lohegaon observatories recorded minimum temperatures well above the average, indicating a trend towards warmer conditions.

Meteorological experts attribute these warmer temperatures to a combination of factors, including northeasterly winds, western disturbances, and easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal. These influences are expected to continue over the next few days, keeping minimum temperatures relatively mild across Pune and its surrounding areas.

With varying temperatures expected across different parts of the city, Pune residents can anticipate a comfortable and pleasant New Year’s morning as they bid farewell to 2024 and usher in 2025.
