Hey there, folks! Here’s a shocking story straight out of Pune and Satara for you. A woman from Pune fell victim to a major fraud scheme, losing a whopping ₹14 crore in the process. Can you imagine that?

Apparently, this woman, who goes by the name Kashmira Pawar, posed as a consultant for the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) of India. She managed to deceive not just one, but several people in Pune and Satara by promising to secure government tenders for them.

After being previously arrested and released on bail, Pawar went on to dupe another unsuspecting victim in Pune. This time, it was Sushma Khamkar who lost approximately ₹14 crore to Pawar’s false promises of securing school uniform tenders in Maharashtra.

The case took an interesting turn when it was revealed that Pawar had been introduced to Khamkar by a man named Anil Waydande, who had, unfortunately, passed away. Despite this setback, Satara City Police wasted no time in apprehending Pawar, along with six others involved in the fraudulent activities.

The scam had been going on for a staggering three years, from November 2019 to December 2022, with the total amount defrauded adding up to a mind-boggling ₹14 crore 73 lakh 40 thousand 485. Pawar even went as far as providing Khamkar with a fake tender document worth ₹5 crore, which ultimately raised suspicions and led to the unraveling of the scheme.

It’s heart-wrenching to hear that Khamkar’s family had internal disputes over the financial loss, causing a delay in filing the complaint. However, justice seems to be on the horizon as Pawar has been remanded to police custody for five days. The investigation is being led by Police Inspector Sandeep Mhetre from Satara City Police Station.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
