Hey there, folks! Exciting news coming your way from Khed today as Pune Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Santosh Patil recently inaugurated some brand new concrete houses for the Katkari Tribal Families, courtesy of Habitat for Humanity India. It was quite the star-studded event with a bunch of important people in attendance, including Shalini Kadu, Vishal Shinde, Jonathan Rockford, and Elizabeth Satov.

During the inauguration, Santosh Patil stressed the importance of the Katkari families making good use of their new homes, especially the toilets. He also called upon the administration to extend various beneficial schemes to the remaining families, such as the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan and the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Shalini Kadu had nothing but praise for the innovative and eco-friendly houses built by Habitat for Humanity India, noting how they will significantly improve the quality of life for these families. Vishal Shinde also shared some cool initiatives undertaken by the company in the taluka.

With 41 Katkari Tribal Families living under the Wada Gram Panchayat, the condition of their houses has been less than ideal. Habitat for Humanity India, in collaboration with the Panchayat Samiti and Wada Gram Panchayat, identified 15 families in need of new housing and constructed permanent homes for them using cutting-edge technologies like rainwater harvesting systems and solar panels.

The Katkari families were over the moon to finally have a place to call their own, and representatives of Habitat for Humanity India were rightfully honored for their groundbreaking work. It’s heartwarming to see communities coming together to uplift those in need. Kudos to everyone involved in making this project a reality!
