Hey Pune peeps, get ready for the Environment Theater Festival 2025 happening on January 25th from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm at Chittaranjan Vatika Garden in Model Colony. This year’s theme is “Earth’s Future – Our Responsibility,” focusing on topics like Earthworms, animal migration, Honey Bees and Trees, and the interconnection and interdependence within our ecosystem.

Students from 40 schools in Pune have been showcasing their talents and highlighting the importance of environmental conservation through 46 theatre performances. The festival has engaged over 800 students and presented more than 1000 minutes of thought-provoking content. The grand finale will feature 12 outstanding performances selected from the preliminary rounds.

Special guests include actor and environmentalist Mr. Sayaji Shinde, Pune Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale, and Mrs. Soujanya Veguru from Cummins India. Esteemed judges from the theatre fraternity, including Mr. Ashutosh Nerlekar and Dr. Sharvari Karnik, will evaluate the performances, with environmental consultant Mr. Srikant Gund as an observer.

Founder of “We the Artists (WTA),” Abhishek Kawitkar, encourages students to use nature as their canvas of expression, promoting creativity in theatre production using recyclable materials as props. The festival promises to showcase the creativity and environmental consciousness of Pune’s youth.
