Hey there, folks! If you’ve been out and about in Aundh, Fergusson College Road, Jangli Maharaj Road, or Sinhgad River Bank Road, you might have noticed something a little off about the footpaths. Yep, they’re in pretty bad shape.

According to a recent survey, these footpaths have been deemed among the worst in the area due to broken tiles, potholes, and illegal parking. Can you imagine trying to navigate these obstacle courses? It’s no wonder citizens are feeling frustrated and concerned.

One local resident shared, “I’ve seen senior citizens and children struggling to navigate these footpaths. It’s a miracle no one has been seriously injured yet.” Yikes, that’s definitely not what we want to hear.

To bring attention to this issue, SPTM has kicked off a social media campaign. They’re sharing photos and videos of the worst footpaths on ‘X’ until September 13 in hopes of pressuring the Municipal Corporation to take action.

Abhyankar, a member of SPTM, stated, “The Municipal Corporation must take immediate action to repair and maintain footpaths. Citizens deserve safe and accessible pedestrian infrastructure.” Preach, Abhyankar!

Some of the worst footpath locations have been pinpointed, including DP Road in Aundh with its broken tiles and potholes, Fergusson College Road encroached by vendors, Jangli Maharaj Road with its uneven surface and broken railings, and Sinhgad River Bank Road plagued by illegal parking and debris.

The SPTM’s campaign has stirred up some serious outrage and calls for change. Citizens are being urged to share their experiences and photos of problematic footpaths to show their support for the campaign. Let’s hope these footpaths get the TLC they desperately need soon!
