The NCP-Sharad Pawar faction has made a significant move by dissolving the Maharashtra State Minorities Department and Mumbai Regional Minorities Department committees. This decision was made under the leadership of party president Sharad Pawar, with Siraj Mehdi overseeing the restructuring process.
To recommend candidates for the newly formed committees, a three-member panel has been appointed. The Maharashtra State Minorities Committee now includes Shabbir Vidrohi, Surjat Singh Khungar, and Ikram Khan, a well-known sports personality and Muslim leader from Pune. On the other hand, the Mumbai Regional Minorities Committee comprises Ravindra Pawar, Fahad Ahmed, and Bilkis Shaikh.
The committees will propose three names for the position of president in each body, and the final decision will be made after consultations with Sharad Pawar, state NCP-SP president Jayant Patil, and other senior party leaders. Stay tuned for the official announcement of the new presidents for both committees.
