Despite the absence of elected members in the PMC, Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale took charge and gave the green light for the naming.
This decision has been met with support from local organizations such as the Pune Vaidyakiya Seva and Sanshodhan Sanstha. The state government also gave its final consent, with the cabinet officially approving the proposal on Thursday.
