The long-awaited flyover in Katraj-Kondhwa is finally taking shape, with construction still ongoing. The recent proposal to name the flyover after Balasaheb Deoras, the third Sarsanghchalak of the RSS, has received approval from the Pune Municipal Corporation. Despite the absence of elected members in the PMC, Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale took charge and gave the green light for the naming.

This decision has been met with support from local organizations such as the Pune Vaidyakiya Seva and Sanshodhan Sanstha. The state government also gave its final consent, with the cabinet officially approving the proposal on Thursday.

The Katraj-Kondhwa flyover is a crucial infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic congestion in Pune’s rapidly expanding areas. Once completed, it is expected to improve traffic flow and reduce travel time for commuters in the region.

By naming the flyover after Balasaheb Deoras, the RSS is paying tribute to a significant figure in its history. This development marks a significant milestone in honoring Deoras’s legacy while also advancing an essential infrastructure project for Pune’s future.
