The passengers and crew of a Boeing aircraft flying from Tiruchirappalli Airport to Sharjah, UAE, had a scare when the plane experienced a hydraulic system malfunction at 36,000 feet. Thanks to the quick thinking of Chief Pilot Chrome Rifadali Fahmi and Co-Pilot Maitreyi Shitole, the plane landed safely after circling above Tiruchirappalli Airport for 2.5 hours to reduce fuel levels for a safe landing. The emergency landing was met with extensive precautions by airport authorities, including ambulances, doctors, fire brigades, and police on the runway. Maitreyi, a co-pilot from Kusgaon in Daund taluka, Pune, is being praised for her professionalism and composure during the incident, which ensured the safety of all 140 passengers on board.
