The PMC has officially canceled the monorail project in Thorat Udyan, thanks to the efforts of Chavan and other advocates. Two letters were sent urging the cancellation of the project, and complaints were regularly submitted to the Garden Department.
Following orders from the additional municipal commissioner, the contractor for the monorail project has been served a work suspension notice. This means that all construction work related to the project has come to a halt.
Deputy commissioner Jayant Bosekar explained that the decision to suspend work on the monorail project was made after discussions with the PMC commissioner. The next steps regarding the permanent cancellation of the project will be decided after further deliberation.
