The much-awaited flyover at Rajaram Bridge Chowk in Pune is finally ready for use, but unfortunately, it still remains closed to the public due to the delay in its inauguration by BJP leaders. The flyover, which is a part of the larger project on Sinhagad Road, was completed in July this year but could not be opened to traffic due to the monsoon season.

The tarring of the flyover was postponed multiple times, citing reasons such as the closure of the tar plant and wet materials. However, after weeks of delay, the flyover was finally surfaced on August 10, and remaining tasks such as painting and installing signages were completed by August 12.

Despite the completion of the flyover, the inauguration ceremony has been postponed multiple times due to the busy schedules of political leaders. DyCM Devendra Fadnavis was initially scheduled to inaugurate the flyover but was unable to do so last week.

It is now expected that Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol will be visiting Pune on August 16 and may inaugurate the flyover. However, no official confirmation has been received regarding his schedule. The delay in the inauguration has caused inconvenience to commuters, who continue to face congestion in the area.

Civic officials have declined to comment on the delay, and the issue has been politicized by various parties. Despite the setbacks, it is hopeful that the flyover will soon be opened to the public, providing much-needed relief to commuters in the area.
