Hey there cricket fans! Get ready for some exciting news coming out of Pune. The Punit Balan Group (PBG) is all set to kick off the Fourth Season of the Friendship Cup Cricket Championship for city-based Ganpati mandals, Navratra mandals, and Dhol-Tasha pathaks.
Starting from March 4 to 9, 2025, a total of 24 teams will battle it out for the championship title. PBG Director Punit Balan mentioned that this unique cricket competition is sponsored by Manikchand Oxyrich and will feature teams from various mandals and pathaks.
This year, eight new teams have been added to the mix, making the tournament even more thrilling. Some of the prominent participants include Manache Ganpati Mandals like Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal, Shri Tambadi Jogeshwari Mandal, and Guruji Talim Mandal, along with Dhol-Tasha pathaks like Yuva Vadya, Shriram, and Shivmudra.
Matches will take place at the LR Shinde High School Ground in Sahakar Nagar, with eight teams advancing to the final round. The winning team will walk away with a cash prize of ₹2.11 lakh and a cup, while the runner-up will receive ₹1.11 lakh and a cup.
Individual awards such as Man of the Series, Fair Play Award, Best Batsman, Bowler, Wicketkeeper, and Fielder will also be up for grabs, along with cash prizes and mementos.
